G-Power starts tuning work on new 2012 BMW M5
Just how fast this bad boy will go is yet to be determined as the speed freaks at German tuning firm G-Power have only just begun tinkering with the car.
However, if past performance is anything to go by, we may soon be seeing G-Power's F10 M5 setting some new speed records.
Currently the engineers at G-Power are busy developing wheels, aerodynamic parts and output enhancements for the new M5. Some specific items that will be available include new brake packages, suspension kits, and custom interior mods.
Initial results from the engine tuning department are also very promising. According to EVO, G-Power will initially offer a 611 horsepower upgrade for the M5, up from the standard model's 560 horsepower. However, further down the track we wouldn't be surprised to see the M5's twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 dialed up to somewhere around the 1,000 horsepower mark. The previous Hurricane RR was already spitting out more than 750 horsepower.
G-Power's typical modifications to the drivetrain include custom forced-induction systems, either turbo or supercharged, as well upgraded internals, most of which should be forged pieces.
Look out for G-Power's initial upgrade for the new 2012 BMW M5 early in the new year. In the meantime click here to read up on all the details of the latest-generation M5.
